What made telling Dr. Dunn’s story meaningful for you?
As someone who deeply values history and historical storytelling, the subject of Dr. Marvin Dunn was a perfect match. He is a scholar and author whose work sheds light on the complexities of Black history in America, particularly in South Florida. His passion for preserving stories often overlooked in mainstream narratives resonated with me. Bringing his voice and vision to the screen wasn’t just a job; it was a responsibility.

Editing the story with Trina Robinson was one of the most rewarding editorial experiences of my career. When Trina approached me to collaborate, she trusted that I would pour my heart into making the story as impactful and beautiful as possible—and I did.

How did it feel to see the final piece come together?
I feel it became a powerful story that has since garnered multiple awards. It was an honor to help Dr. Dunn’s message reach the audience it deserves. This collaboration reaffirmed why I love what I do—stories like these make the long hours worth every second.

Those qualities made him the perfect person to edit the story of Dr. Dunn’s life, achievements, and current civil rights advocacy to bring equality to areas locally and nationally where it is absent.

Dr. Dunn is a historic figure from humble beginnings who has risen to great heights and continues to fight for the downtrodden and overlooked in his 80s.
